Why one site
Depth in one metro beats a logo on a map
Amsterdam is one of the densest interconnection markets in the world. A rack here reaches more networks directly than a rack in most places reaches at all.
Plenty of providers our size advertise a dozen points of presence. Usually that means a handful of leased virtual machines and a marketing map. We would rather operate one site properly: our own hardware, in Qupra and Nikhef, with staff who can walk to it.
That decision shows up in the numbers on this site. 20+ Gbps of capacity and 300+ direct peers is what we run — not a projection, and not the sum of every network we can reach through somebody else’s transit.
All of it is filed publicly. If a figure here does not match PeeringDB, the figure here is wrong and we want to know.
The team
Small enough that you will know who you are talking to
InformatiQ is engineer-led. The person who designed the routing policy is the person who answers a peering request, and support tickets land with people who have console access rather than a script.
It is a deliberate trade. We cannot staff three follow-the-sun tiers, so we do not claim to. What we can promise is that the reply comes from somebody who understands the question.
