FAQs
Questions, answered without the hedging
Including the ones where the answer is no.
The network
What is InformatiQ?
InformatiQ operates AS215605, an autonomous system based in Amsterdam. We provide colocation, dedicated and virtual servers, IP transit, business connectivity and interconnection, all from our own network rather than resold from someone else's.
How many points of presence do you have?
One. Our equipment is in Qupra and Nikhef in Amsterdam. We would rather run a single site properly than list a dozen we barely touch.
What is your network capacity?
20+ Gbps. That is the total the network carries, and it is the figure filed on PeeringDB. If you need a commit that approaches it, talk to us first so we can be straight about what we can deliver.
How many networks do you peer with?
300+ directly. Peering is where a single well-placed site earns its keep — Amsterdam is one of the densest interconnection markets anywhere, so a short cross-connect reaches a large share of the internet without transit.
Can I verify any of this?
Yes, and please do. Our interconnection and capacity are filed on PeeringDB under AS215605, and our routing is visible through our looking glass. Every number on this site should match those sources.
Buying from us
Do you publish pricing?
IP transit commits are published because they are standard. Everything else depends on rack size, power draw, hardware and term, so we quote it rather than print a number we would immediately have to qualify.
What is your minimum contract?
Monthly for virtual servers, and typically twelve months for colocation and transit, where we are committing capacity and cross-connects on your behalf. Shorter terms are possible at a different rate.
How quickly can you deliver?
Virtual servers same day. Dedicated servers and colocation depend on hardware availability and cross-connect scheduling in the facility — we give you a date in writing before you commit, not after.
Do you offer a trial?
For virtual servers, yes. For colocation and transit the setup cost is real, so instead we will put you in touch with an existing customer and let you ask them directly.
Operations and support
Who answers support tickets?
Engineers who have console access to the network. There is no first tier reading from a script, which is a consequence of being small rather than a marketing position.
What is your uptime commitment?
Our SLA targets 99.99% network availability, with defined response times and credits. The full terms are on our SLA page rather than summarised into something meaningless.
Do you support IPv6?
On everything, natively, at no extra cost. Dual stack is the default rather than an upgrade.
Do you validate routes with RPKI?
Yes. We validate route origins and drop invalids, and we expect customers announcing prefixes to have their ROAs in order.
What happens if I outgrow you?
We tell you. If a requirement is beyond what one Amsterdam site can serve, we would rather introduce you to someone who can than sell you something that will disappoint.
